Community Liaison Group
The CLG was established in 2001 and has since met regularly to disseminate information and discuss any issues raised by the community.
Since 2001 the CLG has resolved issues such as:
- the intrusiveness of reversing “beepers” on loaders operating at night by first re-wiring them to cut out when headlights were on, and when the technology became available, using less obtrusive “broadband” sensor beepers
- the management of lights and light spill at night
- the installation of rubber impact panels at key transfer points to reduce noise of rock on steel impactThe CLG also contributed to the development of the Quarry Management Plan, and is informed of development proposals and resource consent applications at the earliest stages of any project.
CLG meetings have pre-circulated agendas and action minutes are recorded.
